Monitor Your Activity with Polar AW200 Activity Watch

Physical activity is an essential part of a healthy and vital lifestyle. Walking can help you lose weight, maintain body weight, lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels, lower your risk of cardiovascular and other chronic diseases, reduce stress and improve your overall mental well-being. Besides, walking is enjoyable, and people of all ages do it every day with very little fear of injury.

The best way to reap the health and fitness benefits of walking is to make it a part of your daily life and to make sure that the intensity of your walks matches your goals.

Monitoring your activity helps develop a greater understanding of how being active benefits your health. If you enjoy being outdoors and want to promote your well-being, but do not want to follow too structured a training regimen, the Polar AW200 Activity Watch is the ideal companion to take along on all walking type activities.

Polar AW200 is easy to use: just wear the watch around your wrist, press start, and go. You do not need to attach a transmitter belt or any separate sensors.

Polar AW200 activity watch determines the level of your activity by showing

  • the total time per session and active time

  • the time you spent in each of the five Polar activity zones

  • the number of active steps

  • cumulative calories (kcal) and energy expenditure rate (kcal/h)

  • ascent, descent and maximum altitude during activity.

During action you will see an activity indicator showing the speed you are walking or running.

When monitoring activity, the source of information is your body and its movements. An accelerometer in the AW200 converts body movement into electrical pulses. These are then filtered and combined with personal (height, weight, age, gender) and environmental (ascent, descent, time) data.
